A Promise in Every Sunrise
There is a promise in every day I think as I watch the sunrise on my way to Georgia as the colors dance across the sky. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue indigo, violet. The same colors seen in a rainbow. The same colors that come with a promise. A promise that the Lord will never flood the earth again. With this sunrise I can't help but think that there is a promise, a purpose for this day. The Bible tells us we are not promised tomorrow, but I see that He has given us today. What will be in store for today I do not know, but the Lord has big plans. I'm excited for what He is going to do, how He is going to move, and what He is going to teach me this year at Passion 2012. Details to come. :)

Held Together
What is laminin anyway? Laminins are major proteins in the basal lamina (formerly improperly called "basement membrane"), a protein network foundation for most cells and organs. The laminins are an important and biologically active part of the basal lamina, influencing cell differentiation, migration, adhesion as well as phenotype and survival. Laminins are trimeric proteins that contain an α-chain, a β-chain, and a γ-chain, found in five, three, and three genetic variants, respectively. The laminin molecules are named according to their chain composition. Thus, laminin-511 contains α5, β1, and γ1 chains. Fourteen other chain combinations have been identified in vivo. The trimeric proteins form a plus sign with one long arm, giving a structure that can bind to other cell membrane and extracellular matrix molecules. The three shorter arms are particularly good at binding to other laminin molecules, which allows them to form sheets. The long arm is capable of binding to cells, which helps anchor organized tissue cells to the membrane.

Blessings
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things
'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

For Such a Time
"For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" -Esther 4:14
The phrase "for such a time as this" has come up a lot lately. But each time it is brought to mind, so also is the sentence before it. "For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place..." God does not need us to do His work. He CHOOSES to use US! How great is that! I feel that God has placed me in such a time as this in this point in my life. He has placed me in this situation for a reason. He doesn't need me, but He is giving me this opportunity to act and be used by HIM. May I not waste what He is willing to do through me.

No Matter What...

Live a Little
Live a little. Ok..so my mom may or may not have told me that this summer. Let me repeat that...my mom! Now, it may have meant something a little different in context, but still. So that's what I did tonight. I was spontaneous. I ran through the sprinklers and played red rover with my friends for no other reason than to run through the sprinklers and be with them. I decided why not? Well..I may wake up sick in the morning, but I'd say it was worth it. You've always got to look for those simple joys in life. Those moments and opportunities that the Lord graciously blesses us with. That's what I did tonight. What was one simple joy in your life today?

Abide
